A financial coach needed growth with a filter built in: attract high earners who felt stuck, while turning away people the program wasn’t built to help.

Three problems stood between the coach and scale: free financial content everywhere, a 1:1 model capped by the number of hours in a week, and the need to attract people who felt financially stuck — not people who were financially drowning. The marketing had to bring in the anxious-but-solvent while turning away the genuinely distressed before anyone got on a call.

Everything started with a precise avatar: the tech professional or white-collar worker earning well above average and still feeling broke at the end of each month. The creative avoided yacht-and-laptop wealth imagery and named the thing this person felt but didn’t say out loud.

The entry point was a Financial Readiness Simulator: an interactive bot that assessed each person’s situation and returned personalized insights. Real value, no commitment, and quiet qualification underneath. Qualified leads moved into nurturing across email and WhatsApp, with educational content and monthly group office hours before buying.

Within three months of launch, the funnel was producing qualified leads at roughly a third of the average cost per lead for similar programs in the market. And the quality matched the price: 20 to 30% of qualified consultations converted to enrollment, because the simulator had already done the filtering that usually burns a founder’s calendar.

Financial insecurity stopped being a low-income problem. In a 2025 Goldman Sachs survey, 40% of workers earning over $300,000 a year said they live paycheck to paycheck, and the share of all workers in that position has climbed from 31% in 1997 to 46% today. High salary, zero cushion: one layoff or one unexpected bill away from crisis.
